Good morning CJD parents!
School is approaching so please be reminded of the following:
1. Students should arrive on Thursday, 8/7/24 between 7:45 am and 8:10 am. They are late at 8:15 am. Car Riders can be picked up between 3:20 and 3:30 pm. after school.
2. Only mesh or clear book bags will be allowed. This will be strictly enforced.
3. Cell phones MUST be turned in daily to student's homeroom teachers or remain at home.
4. Please ensure your child is registered. 8/1-8/2 registration will be at FHPS from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Returning students only have to register online; new students must register in person.
5. Our Meet and Greet for rising 6th graders and NEW 7th and 8th graders will be Monday, 8/5 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Begin arriving at 5:15 pm through the lunchroom doors to pick up schedules.

CJD parents: Wednesday, June 19th the school is closed in honor of Juneteenth. Additionally, don't forget to register your child for the fall (go to our CJ Donald Middle School Facebook page for more details). Lastly, students may still bring in their permission slips distributed last Thursday.
CJD parents, permission slips were distributed to summer enrichment students and should be returned TOMORROW, Monday, June 10th. Students MUST wear closed toe sneakers (no exceptions). There is no cost to the students. They should not bring food or beverages; lunch will be provided.

We enjoyed a week of fun summer learning this week and look forward to next week!
Important CJD Summer Enrichment and Summer School Updates: Summer Enrichment and Summer School/Grade Recovery start on Monday, June 3rd. Students should arrive by 7:50 am through the cafeteria doors if they intend to eat breakfast. Employees will pick students up from the cafeteria. If they are not eating breakfast they should be on campus by 8:10 am. If after 8:10 am, students should go through the front doors. Bus transportation will be provided. When we receive bus route information we will send it out. All student car riders should be picked up by 2:15 pm. Dismissal will start at 2:00 pm. If your child is in summer school for grade recovery (failed a core class) they can not miss more than 2 days. Students attending the Summer Enrichment program will have their first field trip to the Roller Motion Skating Rink next Thursday, June 6th. The cost is $10.00. Students may begin bringing the $10.00 fee on Monday, June 3rd through Wednesday, June 5th. A permission slip will be given out on Monday to all students along with another field trip for June 12th (the second field trip will be at no cost to the student). We look forward to a fun-filled summer enrichment experience!
CJD parents: Report cards were given to students today. If your child was not here you may pick up a hard copy tomorrow, Friday, May 24th or Tuesday, May 28th from 8:00 am-12:00 pm. You may also access your child's grades through logging into PowerSchool. The "F1" category is their final grade and determines if they have passed their classes and will be promoted to the next grade. If their "F1" grade is a 59 or less in a CORE subject, they must attend summer school or be at risk of being retained.
CJD Parent Reminder: Our summer school and summer enrichment registration are still open. If your child failed one or two core subjects please register them for summer school by clicking the first link below (A letter was sent home to inform you if your child needed summer school. However you can check PowerSchool and refer to their "F1" grades).
If your child did not fail and you want them to participate in our Summer Enrichment program to increase reading and math skills while having exposure to additional enrichment activities click the second link.

Begin arriving by 8:45 am. 7th Grade's Awards Day will follow the 6th grade program at 10:15 am on May 16th. 7th-grade parents can begin arriving by 10:05 am. Lastly, Lady Tiger Tryouts (girls basketball) will be May 14th-15th at FHPS in the main gym from 3:45 to 5:15 pm for students currently in the 6th-8th grade.
If your child is failing or in danger of failing you should have received a letter for summer school/grade recovery. On that letter was a QR code to scan to give you access to register your child. If you didn't sign them up, click the link below:

Side note: If you child recovers their grade after you signed them up for summer school you will be notified they do not need to attend. If you don't hear from their teacher assume they must start June 3rd. If they are failing three or more core classes summer school is not an option. They will be retained. Please communicate with your child's teachers if you are unclear on their standing.

CJD Top of the Morning Reminders:
*Today is physical day! This morning you may still submit the completed physical (front page completed, dated, and signed) if you plan to participate in a sport, including cheer and band next year. If it is not completed and turned into the main office this morning you will have to get your physical on your own.
*Secondly, the snack shack will be open today through Friday at CJD!
* Lastly, sign your student up for our free summer enrichment program for an awesome fun learning experience in the month of June at CJD! 70 slots are only available.
