Fairfield City School District will be closed Wednesday, January 17, 2024. All campuses and buildings will be closed, and any extracurricular activities are cancelled.
Our District will continue to monitor the latest weather forecasts and examine information from the emergency management officials as we plan for Thursday.
Our priority is the safety of our students and employees. Please, be mindful of icy road conditions and stay safe and weather aware.


Dear Fairfield City Schools Family,
Due to the threat of winter weather, the Fairfield City School District will be CLOSED Tuesday, January 16th. All campuses and buildings will be closed. Employees will not report to work. Students will not report to school. There will also be no athletic or extra-curricular activities.
Please, be advised that Governor Kay Ivey has issued a state of emergency due to the forecasted winter weather. Fairfield City School District will continue to monitor the weather advisories. At this time, no decision has been made regarding a Wednesday closure or delay. We will inform you when that happens.
Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and employees. We strongly encourage everyone to stay informed through reputable weather authorities.

Due to sewer line problems at C. J. Donald Middle School, Monday, April 17th will be an eLearning Day. This matter only impacts students at CJDMS in grades 6-8. At this time, we anticipate the middle school being open Tuesday, however, we will notify everyone if that changes.
