It is a longstanding tradition for Fairfield City Schools to invite parents to lunch for this season of thanks. This year, the designated day is November 14, 2024 for all schools. Forest Hills community Center will have their event on November 24, 2024.
Historically, Thanksgiving commemorates the unity of the Pilgrims and the Native Americans, who gathered together for a feast celebrating their bountiful harvest, as well as, symbolizing peace and goodwill between their cultures. This feast became a tradition over the years and is now a national holiday celebrated in many cultures on the fourth Thursday of every November with a wonderful feast and fellowship amongst family and friends.
Our Child Nutrition Program takes great pride in facilitating the meal for our annual event. For that, we say thank you to the Director, Managers, Food Service Staff, and Clerical Staff of Fairfield’s CNP for their continued commitment and dedication to providing for the nutritional needs of those we serve. This great team is indeed the catalyst who makes this gathering of thanks even possible. We appreciate you all from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do.
In preparation for this day, we kindly ask that everyone adheres to the times shared by your child’s school. You should also visit our FaceBook page to scan the QR code to RSVP by 11/10/24. This helps greatly with planning. Again, you are invited to enjoy a meal of thanks with your child/children, we hope to see you on November 14th at ROS, GOIS, CJDMS, FHPS and at FHCDC on November 21st.
